| Gay & Lesbian Art: William Cash
Artist William Cash received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the
Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia in 2006. The
paintings in his Provincetown Series represent a life-long
interest with the male psyche. His goal is to illustrate how the
male mind expresses itself through body language.
Cash deliberately chooses to paint ambiguous scenes where the
viewer is encouraged to create their own interpretation. It is
more important for him to posit questions than answers. For
example, he tries to avoid portraiture thus allowing the viewer
to fill in the faces.
The men in his paintings are captured during moments of
self-reflection. He tries to invest all of his figures with an
emotional and spiritual life beyond the confines of the painted
canvas.
